Microscopic examination
With the aid of a stereo microscope, prepared ground samples are assessed visually, both macroscopically and microscopically, and measured according to specific customer specifications.
Chisel test
In workshop test procedures, the welded joints are subjected to stress in simple test fixtures or directly on the object until they break. No measurements are recorded during the test. The defined properties of fracture type and point diameter can be determined and documented on the destroyed object. The workshop tests do not provide any information about the strength of the welded joints. Test conditions that are not clearly defined and not consistent can lead to different test results, both in terms of the determined point diameter and the fracture pattern.
Adhesion test
Adhesive bonding techniques are increasingly being used in modern lightweight car body construction. By creating very homogeneous and surface-wide force-fit connections of heat-sensitive materials, bonding offers many advantages as a joining process. The adhesive also fulfils a sealing or insulating function and can be used as crash-relevant structural bonding for sealing and corrosion protection of folded seams.
Our trained specialists, ‘adhesive practitioners and adhesive experts’, locate the adhesive seams according to specific customer requirements and then carefully separate the joints in order to measure and visually assess them.
Tensile/compression test
Thermal joining processes, also known as warm joining processes, are not uncommon in car body construction. Due to low process costs, enormous process robustness and high joint strength, these ‘warm joining processes’ are used in a wide variety of applications in modern car body construction.
Torque test
Screws and clamping systems are used in a wide variety of areas. The following applies in every area of application: a screw must be able to reliably withstand high loads.
During the torque test, specific specifications are checked and the respective load limits are determined.
